As a speaker in citywide and regional prayer conferences, I am often asked to unmask the “spiritual power” opposing the body of Christ in the conference region. City leaders and intercessors have even asked if I knew the “name” of the principle spirit that is resisting the church in their area.

“Do you want to know the name of the most powerful spirit opposing most Christians?” I ask. Eager faces respond affirmatively.

“It’s Yahweh.”

My questioners, who suddenly look like a tree full of owls, are always bewildered by my answer. They are sure I misunderstood their question. Then I explain. I remind them that, according to the Scriptures, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6). So, if we are divided in our hearts from other churches, if we instinctively look down on other Christians or if we are at all self-promoting in attitude, we are walking in pride. As such, the Spirit that stands to resist our endeavors is not demonic; it’s God.

The Lord will not excuse our pride just because we sing three hymns on Sunday and consider ourselves “saved.” God resisted Lucifer’s pride in heaven and He will oppose our pride on earth. What is most sad is, religious pride has been so homogenized into our Christian experience that we don’t even perceive it as being wrong. Yet it is without doubt the most offensive blight upon God’s people.

The Lord does not want the lost added to churches where they must assimilate the poison of pride at the same table as salvation.

The One Who Seeks and Judges
Jesus said of Himself, “I do not seek My glory.” Yet, how many of our actions are expended doing the exact opposite of the nature of Christ! Our choice of clothes and cars, homes and roles in life so often have self-exaltation working in the background. Jesus continued, “There is One who seeks and judges” (John 8:50). Listen carefully to His words, for every time we seek to exalt ourselves we run face to face with God. One dimension of the Father’s heart is that He “seeks [glory] and judges” those who, through pride, exalt themselves. Indeed, my friends, consider with godly fear our American tradition of self-promotion. Though it is highly esteemed among men, it is actually “detestable in the sight of God” (Luke 16:15).

The Old Testament is replete with examples documenting the Almighty’s opposition to man’s pride. Time after time it was not Israel’s enemies that thwarted national prosperity; it was God. From generation to generation, the Lord allowed Israel’s adversaries to humble His people, to drive them toward desperation, humility and finally repentance. There, in brokenness and honesty, God could deal with their sins and finally lead them into national revival.

Listen how the Lord pleaded with Israel: “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would quickly subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries” (Ps. 81:13–14).

So also with us. We need the might of God to be unleashed against our foes. For truly, terrible powers of darkness have invaded our land, and our adversary stalks our streets seeking whom he may devour. Our hope, however, is not merely in confronting the enemy, but in allowing God to confront us. Our victory over the enemy is directly attached to our full surrender to God.

If we truly learned of Him, we too would be “meek and lowly in heart” (Matt. 11:29 KJV). And God, who gives grace to the humble, would rescue us from the spiritual enemies of our nation.

Heal Our Land
The promise of the Lord is familiar. He says, “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14). You say, But I’m humbling myself and praying. Yes, but our humility to God is not complete until we learn to humble ourselves to one another.

The fact is, because of pride, we have yet to accept what the Lord means in His words, “If My people.” We still interpret His phrase “My people” to mean “our people”—our limited circle of friends, relatives and Christians whose culture or style of worship is, more or less, like our own.

However, when the Lord thinks of His people, He sees a more expansive group. He includes all who have been born again in a city. All of us who “are called by [His] name,” though we are diverse in gifts and assignments, must find unity of spirit before Him. And this begins with an amazing strategy: we must humble ourselves.

I know this goes against the grain of our historic church relationships. Satan has not only divided us from others, he has made us proud that we are separate. We think being separate is a virtue. But consider: only one group of people consistently found the Lord confronting and resisting them in the New Testament: the Pharisees. Literally translated, the word “Pharisee” meant “the separate.” Of all the religious groups in the first century, it is the pride of the Pharisees that, today, the church most resembles.

We pray, “Lord, heal our land.” But the land He intends to heal first is that which exists beneath the feet of the humble. It is the world of the praying meek, who find the transforming power of God as their companion.

The Lord’s remedy for our society is hidden within the life-relationships of Christians. We are always so mindful of what others have done wrong to us, but where have we failed others? What can we do to heal the land that exists between us and those whom we have hurt?

You see, as we become those who “humble themselves and pray” about what we have done wrong, healing from God begins to flow. (For instance) when white Christians humble themselves and ask for forgiveness from African and Native Americans, God begins to heal the land under their feet.

If God resists the proud, remember also, He gives grace to the humble. Grac e is more than being covered; it is being cleansed and changed by the power of God. Grace is God’s transforming power doing in us what we cannot do for ourselves.

When we pray, “heal our land,” it is the land beneath the feet of the humble that God promises to touch and restore to blessedness.

Our prayer efforts are not for glory, recognition, or even for special rewards for being obedient. I am so very aware of your dedication and why you are praying - your prayer efforts are from the LOVE that you have embraced from the Father!

We will be going on to a Phase 3 (begins Monday, June 8th) which will be focused on certain issues in addition to the general prayer efforts of declaring right agreement and loosing the effects and influences of wrong agreements. As we are all aware, we are stirring up frustration and anger from the enemy’s quarters. I believe that Peterson’s Message version of Ephesians 6:13-19 is the best interpretation I’ve seen of this passage. This is a word to each one of us personally as we keep praying into the very center of the darkness over and in our nations.

We keep seeing more and more things exposed in government and leadership in California and in America all the way from carelessness to deliberate deception. What is happening in your individual nations?

Ephesians 6:10-18
10 God is strong, and he wants you strong.
11 So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way.
12 This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.
13 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.
14 Truth, righteousness,
15 peace,
16 faith,
17 and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon.
18 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out (The Message).

Dear Rev. Liberty! Thank you so much for your Ministry and your team! We, the 8 Intercessors in Ukraine, have been continuing to participate in Dislodging and Declaring Prayer Outreach up to now. All of us are faithful to our commitment though all of us experienced some backlash, too. Our health, finances and families are being attacked but we are determined in our decision. We don’t stand in agreement with it. We believe we’ll see God’s glory and revival in our nation. We already see changes in our lives. We believe we’ll never be the same. This is the word God has given me this week, Psalms 139, V. 23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts, point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Father, we humbly come before you with our very lives and we thank you for all that is happening through these times of prayer. It is a huge honor to serve you and be called your sons and daughters. I pray for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit and a renewal of our minds and bodies we claim the victory that Jesus has already won. Dear Liberty, Thanks for the encouraging update, in spite of everything you’ve been through. One set of declarations that came to mind, which I believe came from the Lord, was the beatitudes (Matthew 5): that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the poor in spirit, that those who mourn shall be comforted, that the meek shall inherit the earth, that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled, that the merciful shall obtain mercy, that the pure in heart shall see God, that peacemakers shall be called children of God, that those reviled and persecuted for Jesus’ sake shall be rewarded and experience His joy.

As I was meditating this morning, the Lord gave me a word for you and all the other intercessors. He says to hang in there as the rewards are about to come upon our lives. He has heard our cries and prayers from the beginning when we set out to intercede. TO ALL INTERCESSORS: Please always remember that you are prayed for every Monday through Friday by individual name for all that concerns you. I frequently pray for all of you corporately at other times, too, as I am hearing that other Intercessors are doing, too.

The LSM Team is praying and binding the government leaders, the academic leaders, and the spiritual leaders of your nations to God’s will and purposes. We are declaring that they shall know and embrace His truth. We are loosing wrong counsel from them and loosing self-agendas and self-motives from them.

As I said above, we will begin Phase 3 on Monday, June 8th and run through July 6th. As I believe this Phase will go deeper and be stronger, I have decided that I would like to know who is committing to going on with us.

I will be assigning different focus groups of issues that you will all be asked to include or add to your prayers of breaking the effects and influences of wrong agreements and declaring right agreements. We will have those next week. I do already know two of the focus groups:

1)The government, military, spiritual, academic, and financial leaders of your country

This has been a hard week for me. I have personally been dealing with disappointment and some backlash. I do thank and praise God for timely words of encouragement from you, the Intercessors. A couple of days ago I was so engrossed in trying to figure out what was going on in many areas of my life and the ministry while I was driving that I got lost 3 times and showed up two weeks early for a doctor’s appointment. There are times when any one of us can get knee deep in fighting with alligators and we forget that our purpose for wading into the swamp to drain it.

I received a good word from an Intercessor this week and really hadn’t taken the time to absorb it on a personal level. I went back and read it again and locked onto this line – Do not stand in agreement with any backlash. Read the Word from the Lord below:

I’m continuing on with Phase 2 - just wanted to make sure you knew that. We need all the prayers we can get here in OK right now as we do across the nation. And thank you, Liberty, and your ministry for all the blessings that ebb and flow through you. I bind my mind to the mind of Jesus and my will to the perfect will of God throughout Phase 2.

In checking her site this morning, I found she had featured this prophetic Word. It speaks strongly to me regarding our Intercessors’ dedication to praying to break the power of wrong agreements while declaring right agreements around the world. It also speaks to me of Daniel 12:3 (NIV), Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

MY WIND IS BLOWING FROM SEA TO SEA (James Donovan – May 23, 2009)
My wind is blowing across the nations touching and transforming lives, for now is the time for a mighty outpouring of My presence. Many who depended on self are coming to a place of great change, mind sets are being broken, and traditions and religious beliefs being broken. My Holy Ghost fire is moving upon the nations, so receive My power and My anointing My faithful ones for I am bringing about change and setting My army in order for I am the one who leads and directs. So I am calling a people who will fulfill the destiny and purpose. To All Intercessors: Continue to bind all of people in your city, state, province, country (choosing whatever level of focus you want at the time) to God’s will and purposes – pray for the government and spiritual leaders on down through the forgotten and the rejected. Bind the people of your nation to God’s will and purposes for their lives. Loose the effects and influences of wrong agreements made because of fear, painful memories, greed, desire for personal power, desires to control, and self-motives. Loose the effects and influences that have been in place in your nation for years, even decades. Declare that every heart will turn to God and recognize Him for who He is.

As you declare His Word, declare out loud that it is like a hammer and like fire, Jeremiah 23:29 (AMP), Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]?

Declare that His Word is also sure and true and it never returns to Him as void: So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void ut it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:11, NKJV).

Declare that the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Declare over your nation that your people will hear and receive the voice of the Spirit in Isaiah 60:1-4 (NIV), Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn. Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm.

Lord, you have said (Matthew 9:37-38) that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. We are asking You, as the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Call forth workers in the nations we represent, Lord.

Jesus, we the Intercessors agree, in unity, that you are good, you are powerful, you are all knowing, you are just, you are holy, you are righteous, you are the Lord of Lords, you are the King of Kings, you are our Master and Savior.

(2 Chronicles 7:14) Father, you have said that if we would humble ourselves, pray, seek your face, and turn from our wicked ways, you would heal our lands. Forgive us and the people of our nations for our sins, for our neglect of you and your Word. We are praying and seeking your face. We are becoming more and more aware of how small acts of sin, complaining, gossiping, shading the truth, are wicked ways. Holy Spirit, help us catch ourselves every time that happens and we will turn from them. Please heal our lands.

As you are declaring and praying, focus this week on binding the leaders of your nation to God’s will and purposes and loose the effects and influences of their wrong agreements, their self-agendas, their wrong counsel, and their mistakes.

Elouise: I am very aware of this attack on Intercessors. We are behind in our ministry offices rent and other expenses. I also have had about a 90% reduction in my personal income. The only thing we know to do is to keep pressing in with these prayers and to keep praying for each other. God is aware and God cares, so His help and answers are going to come from somewhere. He is not baffled by the works of the enemy, but instead has a plan that He is working out. Answers will come. I was reading in Hebrews yesterday and one verse said that obedience is learned from suffering (affliction, trial, testings). The obedience I see now being strengthened is our trust and faith in God coming through for us. Liberty

I am thrilled to hear what God is doing. One thing that has come to mind in my praying is this: I am asking God to release the unanswered prayers that have been prayed for possibly years of praying and to just flood us with the answers. Our Sunday School class was the most powerful class I have had ever had or attended. Tomorrow morning we begin the first full week of Phase Two Prayer. I’m extremely excited about what is happening. While I know that things are happening on a large scale, coming together in ways that will astound us, many things are happening as well in my life. I’ve felt more of an urgency to pray since we started Phase 2. I’ve had someone who had disappeared from my life contact me about writing songs for my ministry. I’ve been contacted from Chile about someone writing Spanish translations for some of my books. Today, Mother’s Day, I received a short but sweet text message from my youngest daughter (estranged since 2004) wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day. I’ve also received some very encouraging words from other people and I sense God working in many areas of my life. Here are some of the things I’ve heard from other Intercessors.

I said, “You like Liberty Savard and her ministry?”

He responded, “Yes, very much. Keep going.” And we shall, too! Ken and Margaret

(I responded) Lulu: Keep praying the DISLODGING AND DECLARING prayers. Declare that God is in control and that He is using everything He is allowing man to do. Keep loosing the effects and influences of all wrong agreements - from the man on the street all the way up through the top Legislators. This might sound strange, but don’t let this upset you. As long as you are praying in agreement with God, He is going to work His plans through what He is allowing to happen in your Legislation. Keep thanking Him for that. Keep thanking Him for what He is doing in your business. Every Monday through Friday morning, we are praying for all of you (by individual name) that God is perfecting that which concerns you which includes your job and your finances and your State Legislature. I have been a Christian since 1971 or 1972, I’m not sure which. I remember being so irritated with older Christian saints who would reply to my confusion and distress over why God wouldn’t answer my prayers. So many of the older saints would say, “Just praise the Lord and you’ll feel better.” All that seemed to do was make me mad. But now I see that it really is the right thing to do, both because we should always thank God for what He does, and because it distracts our souls from worrying and feeling stressed. You cannot worry and stress when you sincerely thanking God and praising Him for what He has done and is currently doing and is going to do.

What a powerful time I personally have had with our worldwide Prayer Outreach to dislodge territorial spirits by loosing the effects and influences of wrong agreements made in our lands. So many of you wanted to go on with a second phase and that is extremely encouraging. Our prayers have been far reaching, and things have happened in all our lives that each of us may just now be recognizing or at least feeling the beginnings of.

In California, we have just had a four-day rain that has greatly impacted the drought situation we have had been in for two years now. The swine flu is abating in its threat. So many of you are writing that you have a new awareness of things you did not realize were still in your soul, in your attitudes and thoughts, and in your reactions. Personally, I have had some heretofore unknown (for decades) family information surface that may have a strong positive impact on my life today. Linda has some major family issues that are resolving. Some very exciting potential prison ministry may be opening up for us. Some very exciting opportunities with my publisher may be opening up.

Always remember that we are praying for the big picture. When Kingdom purposes are prayed through, all of our personal issues begin to get resolved.

For the next several days, let us all agree to declare these verses in one accord: Psalm 86:9-10 (AMP), “All nations whom You have made shall come and fall down before You, O Lord; and they shall glorify Your name for You are great and work wonders! You alone are God.”

Substituting plural pronouns for personal pronouns, let us all agree to declare these verses: Psalm 118:13-17 (NIV), “(WE WERE) pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped (US). The LORD is (OUR) strength and (OUR) song; he has become (OUR) salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: ‘The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things! The LORD’s right hand is lifted high, the LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!’ (WE) will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.”

What a great day we had with the Lord on Sunday. My pastor has been backing us up by praying for us at the designated time when we all pray. I believe God is rewarding very powerfully. My pastor told me before the service that God changed his message at the last minute and he was to give people the opportunity for testimonies. He only spoke for about 10 minutes and then he gave an altar call and the altar just packed out. The spirit of God fell powerfully. Jon in PA

As I went to church this morning, I was thinking about having said that today, Sunday, would be the 21st day of our month-long Prayer Outreach. I looked again at Daniel 10:12-13 (AMP) and re-read the angel’s words to Daniel: “12 Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind and heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come as a consequence of [and in response to] your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days” (AMP). It is not really clear if the angel came on the 21st day of Daniel’s humble prayers or the day after the 21 days had ended. Either way, as of today and tomorrow I believe that we can begin to look for answers and breakthroughs from now on.

We have 117 registered Intercessors around the world at this time. I hope all of you have taken time to look at the red maps with the gold stars on www.libertysavard.com. The prayer coverage of our international Intercessors is so impressive.

I have been aware of several small shifts in my thinking and my attitudes in the past week which I directly attribute to having prayed every Monday through Friday with all of you. I am more aware than I ever remember being of very small attitudes and subtle judgments in my soul regarding things happening around me (remember that it is the small foxes that spoil the vines when the vineyards are in bloom, Song of Solomon 2:15 ). I’m watching my words carefully so as not to speak something that someone could come into a wrong agreement with. I’m finding more things to declare and speak of that are good. I have found myself praying earnestly with great concern for people in the newspaper who probably don’t have anyone praying for them. I’m praying for people in the grocery store and on the streets.

We’re hearing from many of you who are so aware of the importance of our praying together as we are doing. You have been contacting our office for even further right agreement and e-mailing me with testimonies. Many of you are completely involved in the purpose of this Prayer Outreach and that is GOOD!

I was surprised to recently remember a dream I had many years ago. I was a sheep, plodding along with a long line of sheep on a dusty path, one right after another. Each sheep’s head hung low, and there was dirt around its eyes, in its ears, and around its mouth from the dust being kicked up by the long line of sheep. I looked up briefly and saw that there were high berms of dirt on either side of our dusty path with fences on top of the berms. Then I heard a voice that said “Come up here.” I quickly looked up and saw a hole in one of the fences. I turned off the path and climbed up the embankment to squeeze through the hole in the fence. Seven or eight other sheep followed right behind me. Just on the other side of the berm was a lush little valley of green grass, sweet flowers, and a clear stream ran through it. The voice said, “Eat, drink, and rest.”

I spoke out to ask, “Why didn’t more come up with us?”

And I heard, “They did not hear me calling them.” You have heard Him calling you. You are making a major difference in circumstances around the world as you have committed to this Prayer Outreach. You have believed in the power of prayer and right and godly agreement. I look forward to hearing from you as you begin to see God’s work all around you in the days to come.

Dear Liberty! First of all, I want to thank you for extending the invitation for me to join the Prayer Outreach. Although I did not start on the first day, I am thankful that I was able to get in about 2 weeks. You stated for us to look for God today in our churches. You were right! Our service today, beginning with Praise and Worship was awesome. People were healed in their seats. Even the message was sweet. I am so thankful that I was a part of the Prayer Outreach and a part of today’s service. I sing on the Praise and Worship team. There was such a freedom to worship this morning.. We went totally on a different level. The Pastor had to sit before the worship finished because the anointing was so strong. Praise Be to God. Although the Prayer Outreach is over (technically), (FROM LIBERTY: THIS PRAYER OUTREACH IS NOT OVER UNTIL MAY 6th), I look forward to turnarounds in my life, especially at work and in my finances. By the way, I am a cancer survivor for 2 years (Stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer), and I am cancer free. I am so excited about what God is doing. I have re-committed myself to studying your books, again. I started over 10 years ago. I am more than ready to go to the next level. I started 3 months ago conducting and teaching selective intercessors on effective prayer strategies - prayer points. Saturday’s session was awesome. Normally the sessions last for approximately 2-3 hours (ending with the prophetic). However, Saturdays session went for several hours ( 4-1/2). God did a mighty work in me.
